Abradable Coatings
Abradable coatings are made of an abradable material. The word abradable means to wear or rub down – abradable coatings are designed for use in movable parts where another surface is abrasive. The abradable coating will wear down in a controlled way, leaving no damage on the surface it is in contact with.
Uses: Engine parts in the automotive and aerospace industry.
High Friction Coatings
High-friction thermal coatings are used wherever something slippery needs not to be! Effective high-friction coatings are used wherever traction needs to be restored to aid efficiency and performance.
Uses: wide variety of applications from feed rollers to tool surfaces, and even floors.
Wear Control Coatings
Wear control coatings are designed to stop premature wear and extend the life of components and machinery. Therefore, they have a wide range of uses – anywhere where moving parts need protection from excessive wear.
Uses: A wide range of industries use wear control coatings including the gas and oil industries.
Thermal Barrier Coatings
Thermal barrier coatings offer critical components protection from heat – not just any heat but very extreme temperatures, such as those found inside gas turbines.
Uses: Thermal barrier coatings have found their uses mainly in gas turbine parts and aerial engines.
Corrosion Protection Coatings
Corrosion protection coatings are usually used where surfaces are constantly exposed to the elements and extreme conditions. They greatly extend the life of surfaces by halting corrosion.
Uses: Anti-corrosion coatings are often used in the railway industry and the offshore gas and oil industries.
